Yarka Watercolors on 140 lb cold press paper from Strathmore.
When i first looked at the photo, I was very inspired and thought that i could do this painting quickly and still make it look phenomenal. But When i started drawing the outline i realized that the suckers were gonna take a hell of a lot of time to finish... and i ended up doing this in two or three weekends rather than just one. However, I think the results were pretty phenomenal. One thing that disappointed me was that that color is realy dull on both the reference photo and the painting - sometimes i would get sick of looking at it and just take a break from painting it. So I need to work on keeping concentrated when painting more difficult things. Over all, i'm satisfied.
Prints and the original will be up for sale on my site. There are going to be more shots of this and of the reference photo in my scraps if you guys wanna see more.
ZOMG! That's really cool. Such lovely detail...No wonder you were complaining about the suckers so much. But why'd you photograph it against a large floral print?

hahahaha yeah I should crop that out - i was trying to get some nice lighting and the only place in the house i could find was having it rest on a footstool with floral fabric XD thanks for the comment though.
This is beautiful. It's worth every hour of all the time you put into it, and I think that your price is very reasonable for the original! I may pick up a print of it sometime. It's so cool.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
